Of course, I was in no way, shape, or form, implying the OP falls into the latter category. Being artsy is a good thing. I'm an admirer of all things creative. I was just venting because it seems like every forum on CD discusses yuppies like they are a bad thing.

Now that one I don't know. Hipster sounds like an older person trying to be young.

Just the opposite, Seacove. Google it!

I do wish I understood the connection between hipsters and Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer.

Thanks Woof, I've learned something today. If they're so trendy, why didn't they choose a better name? And Pabst? Really?

I think they like Miller Lite, too.

Maybe they like old paleoconservatives or sympathize with the factory workers of the Sixties?

I don't get it either. They want to differentiate themselves from the fans of microbrews?
" We don't care about the taste. We're so cool that we drink this pisswater brew."

It's because they saw Ashton Kutcher drink Pabst, or read it on his Twitter feed, and think it's all the rage. I'm in San Antonio where Pabst is brewed, and trust me, no one here thinks it's any good either.

Well to me, yuppies are overtaking our once quiet arty neighborhood, stuffing the old bars that were once comfortable with fashionista, better-than-thou attitudes that make them impossible to find a seat and/or uncomfortable to be anywhere near. Once yuppies find out an area is 'cool,' they all go there en masse and ruin it for the people who made it 'cool' in the first place. So, Seattlecoming and Caraway, anywhere where you would NOT like, is probably where I'd like to be...

And hipsters like PBR because PBR rolled out the geurilla marketing a few years ago, graffiti murals, etc. I own an art gallery, and when we have a keg of PBR no one wants it, but if we buy cans, when everyone can see that they are drinking PBR, they'll spend $5 on a tall boy...
