^^Retaliation for speaking up.

Wonder if she will "fall" out of a window at a hospital soon, like those doctors that spoke up in Russia.

No retaliation. When you send pornographic photos to hurt people you have an issue with, expect to be in trouble with the law and then expect to lose your job.

What happened was the 4-day test positivity rate was trending lower in Sarasota County until we had a short term spike up in new cases 1 week ago because of the outbreak in the nursing home. But since then it's come back down, in fact today's numbers were very encouraging.

Here are the 4-day test positivity rates going back for the past 14 days in Sarasota County: 4.19% , 3.0% , 2.2% , 2.26% , 2.1% , 1.99% , 1.93% , 4.5% , 4.5% , 4.9% , 6.0% , 4.06% , 3.0% , 1.6% (today)

Today looked really good - there were 1279 tests and only 5 people tested positive. Also the 14-day test positivity rate is 2.66%. Both the 14-day and the 4-day test positivity rates are at the lowest point since I started keeping track several weeks ago. The 4-day test positivity rate is below the 14-day test positivity ratio which is a good sign. Also the average number of tests per day have been increasing which is a good sign.

Manatee County is looking good also. Their 14-day test positivity ratio is 2.5% and their 4-day test positivity rate is 1.8%. These numbers are also the lowest since I started keeping track.

Drug touted by Trump as Covid-19 treatment linked to a greater risk of death, study finds:
https://news.google.com/articles/CAI...S&ceid=US%3Aen

Seriously ill Covid-19 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine were more likely to die or develop dangerous heart arrhythmias, according to a large observational study published Friday in the medical journal The Lancet.

Researchers looked at data from more than 96,000 Covid-19 patients from 671 hospitals. All were hospitalized from late December to mid-April and had died or been discharged by April 21. Just below 15,000 were treated with the antimalarial drugs hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, or one of those drugs combined with an antibiotic.

Those treatments were linked with a higher risk of dying in the hospital, the study found. About 1 in 6 patients treated with chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine alone died in the hospital, compared to 1 in 11 patients in the control group.

About 1 in 5 patients treated with chloroquine and an antibiotic died and almost 1 in 4 treated with hydroxychloroquine and an antibiotic died.

"Previous small-scale studies have failed to identify robust evidence of a benefit and larger, randomised controlled trials are not yet completed," Dr. Frank Ruschitzka, director of the Heart Center at University Hospital Zurich and the study's coauthor, said in a statement.

"However," he said, "we now know from our study that the chance that these medications improve outcomes in Covid-19 is quite low."

Moderna unveiled encouraging coronavirus vaccine results. Then top execs dumped nearly $30 million of stock:
https://news.google.com/articles/CAI...S&ceid=US%3Aen

Moderna's stock price skyrocketed as much as 30% on Monday after the biotech company announced promising early results for its coronavirus vaccine. As ordinary investors piled in, two insiders were quietly heading for the exits.

Moderna's chief financial officer and chief medical officer executed options and sold nearly $30 million of shares combined on Monday and Tuesday, SEC filings reviewed by CNN Business show.

The sales occurred after Moderna (MRNA) excited Wall Street before markets opened Monday by announcing encouraging vaccine trial results. Moderna's market value swelled to $29 billion -- even though the company has no marketed products.

Latest on global search for coronavirus vaccine: Three candidates show early promise:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...se/ar-BB14tECs

An all-out global race to develop a safe vaccine against coronavirus is underway. The stakes couldn't be higher: an effective vaccine or treatment against the virus that causes COVID-19 is necessary to fully restart economies and resume civic life.

As the pace accelerates, USA TODAY is rounding up some of the week's most notable vaccine developments.

They include a massive contract by the U.S. government to get dibs on a possible vaccine that may or may not work, very early but promising news on two different vaccine candidates, one from China and one from the United States, and a caution that sometimes biology can't be sped up as much as we might want.

I value a neutral opinion from a respected source over the "hyped-up" press releases from the companies involved in the vaccine search. Here's one such opinion with a lot of common sense.

Dr. Scott Gottlieb warns that widespread vaccinations for coronavirus by year-end look unlikely:
https://news.google.com/articles/CAI...S&ceid=US%3Aen

Gottlieb said there may be challenges this summer in expanding into the later stages of human trials, which would ultimately make it difficult to have a vaccine ready by year-end. According to Gottlieb, the main question is: Where do companies conduct the large-scale trials?

"You have to really guess right now what city you're going to have outbreaks in, because if you start doing a trial in Dallas and there's an outbreak in Houston in the fall, or you do a city like Boise [Idaho], which has been largely unexposed, and it ends up being outbreaks in Little Rock [Arkansas], you haven't deployed the vaccines in the settings where you're going to get an early answer," Gottlieb said.

He contended it may be "more prudent" to wait to enroll on a large scale until there is more information available about where Covid-19 is likely to be spreading this fall.

Gottlieb, who has argued the U.S. may be able to "take a breather" from the virus this summer, said that information will not be available in July, when some want to begin phase three trials. "But by July, we might not have a sense on where the outbreaks are going to be."

Drug Touted by Trump Rejected for Covid Patients in France:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/hea...ce/ar-BB14F4J0

Hydroxychloroquine, the old malaria medicine touted as a treatment for Covid-19, can no longer be used to treat the new coronavirus in France amid growing evidence that it can cause more harm than good.

The ruling by a government advisory body means French hospitals will no longer be able to prescribe the drug to Covid-19 patients, although it can remain in use for ailments such as malaria and lupus. The decision marks the latest blow to hydroxychloroquine’s credibility as a coronavirus cure after an observational study last week pointed to a lack of benefits and an increased risk of death.

Scientists have also stopped including the medicine in two major studies. The World Health Organization paused one arm of a multi-pronged clinical trial called Solidarity out of caution and said a safety-monitoring board would make a decision on “the harm, benefit or lack of benefit” of the drug by mid-June.

So glad to see the reopening in Florida is going so well. Thank you President Trump and Governor DeSantis for all you have done to minimize the damage from this virus.
