Is 50k not enough? Considering the cost of a house under 100k, utilities, car insurance, gas, food, entertainment? We are frugal when we have to be.

I'm pretty sure that one could live comfortably on $50k in Bradenton - or most parts of FLA. It would depend on the number of family members you have, how many car payments, rent, how far you have to commute, etc etc. There are a lot of cheap things to do in FLA (beach comes to mind) - I'm guessing millions of people in the state are living on much less $$$.

It depends on you and your husband. Some couples can live on ten grand a year and some can't make ends meet on a quarter mill a year.
