Hello - My husband and I (in our mid thirties) are contemplating a move to the Sarasota area from Massachusetts. Among the things we are looking for are - good schools, artist communities, cultural attractions, similar age residents. Can anyone tell me a little bit about Sarasota population?
Booker high school seemed good as a school for artists- do you know if thats the case? Thanks for any input!

Feel free to direct message me, I moved here from NY almost 2 years ago and I will answer your questions honestly... I have no agenda
Booker has a good arts program but is in a school that is poorly rated. I went to a performing/visual arts high school in NY and I think I'll have to consider the program at Booker for my DS8 down the road. It's about 30 min from where I live though and I need to do much more research before I'd consider letting her go to that school. Are you interested in the visual or performing arts programs there? My kids go to Pine View School which is a top rated school in the nation for gifted students. We meet lots of interesting families, find plenty of activities, day trips, enrichment, etc and we just bought a home

Booker has a good arts program but is in a school that is poorly rated. I went to a performing/visual arts high school in NY and I think I'll have to consider the program at Booker for my DS8 down the road. It's about 30 min from where I live though and I need to do much more research before I'd consider letting her go to that school. Are you interested in the visual or performing arts programs there? My kids go to Pine View School which is a top rated school in the nation for gifted students. We meet lots of interesting families, find plenty of activities, day trips, enrichment, etc and we just bought a home
