You have to talk about St. Augustine, while St. Augustine exists and looks good. After this hurricane tears up the coast, it may be a bit messy and less to talk about then. :-)

I hope it stays nice! But, even though St. Augustine is nice - it doesn't measure up now to Sarasota. But, Peter needs to sell it while the selling is still good. :-)

We've seen it all before. You sounded very bitter the last time around for some reason. Maybe I haven't been on these boards long enuff to know why. I think you need to move on.

I hate these "town v. town" threads when they start getting ugly, but I was curious about St. Augustine because a friend from NJ is retiring there. I hadn't heard of St. Aug as a retirement destination....I'm used to the usual suspects like Cocoa Beach, West Palm, The Villages, etc. I will have to check out St. Aug next time I'm driving down to Bradenton from 95. I'd probably like it from the historical aspect, but what I haven't heard mentioned a lot in the debating is spectacular water views and beaches, which is where I think the Sarasota-Bradenton area shines and the reason I love the area so much. In looking at the map, it does appear St. Aug is surrounded by water, so perhaps it does have the same type of scenery and this is just taken for granted as a FL given. But I know for sure it doesn't have the Gulf sunsets, which is really important and special to me. I do agree Peter sounds like he has some type of axe to grind against Sarasota for some reason.
