I went to the Miami Serpentarium as a kid and will never forget. He milked one of these:King Cobra

YouTube - ‪King Cobra - The Biggest Cobra Of The World .....By Blackseetornado‬‏ Was cool and terrifying at the same time. A real showman.

Yep, sure is a ribbon snake. Garters have the spots in between. I know cause we saw a ribbon snake also by our pool and I did quite a bit of research. He lives in a hedge in the yard and constantly travels the screen looking fro a way into the pool.

BTW that is a really wonderful picture.

Wow, nice photo! Looks as if he's saying "OMG, you caught me skinny dipping in the pool!"

hate those snakes - jumped over a garter snake this afternoon while walking in a field off the golf course......actually walked right over it....then screamed like a little girl when I realized what I thought was a branch was really a snake

You should have killed it. I went through the trouble to purchase a suppressor for my 22 and use shot shells with it to dispatch all things with no arms.

As much as I would love to shoot this snake with my Smith shot gun, I think I would shoot this idiot in the head first even if that ment letting the snake get away. Idiots like this deserve the Steve Irwin ending.

I did not gloss, I just said I would kill it. I had a nest of copper heads on my property in Arkansas and killed everyone. I once shot a indigo in my front lawn through my screen porch, I had to replace the screen but it was dead and the up side I was never broke into. My neighbors were but I was never broken into.

Yeah I think Buc didn't get your point. I HATE snakes and would have screamed like a little girl as well. Somehow it doesn't sound as bad coming from me.

It's a harmless little Ribbon snake and it's completely beneficial. It looks nothing like a Yellow Rat snake.
They love water. Be nice to them.
