A co-worker of mine got a position where she can work from home, however I don't speak to that person so I don't have any idea where she will be working at. She wrote all of us a letter this morning telling us about it.
Working from home means your wife won't have to limit herself to the local job market. So much depends on her skill-set and what she likes doing....
Best wishes for a healthy baby come March!
Congrats on the upcoming baby! As for working from home... by definition, those types of jobs aren't market specific... so your wife could search for *any* work from home job. I'm on a few mom boards and people as all the time about working from home. The first thing to remember is that working is working. It's not caring for a baby at the same time. If she's looking for a corporate job, any valid employer will require her to certify that she has childcare for the hours she's expected to work. Does she have any specific skills that companies might want? I work from home full time for a large company, but I needed a degree in a specific field in order to be considered. Anyway, there are a few call center companies that will hire work from home - Convergys and West are two I can think of. If your wife is looking for more of the sales consultant work from home job, she might want to consider Avon, Pampered Chef, or ones like that. I don't think Santa Fe would be the best city to host parties or sell to friends, but it might work.
