Hi,

Our property search which over the past couple of months was located in the Silicon Valley has now extended to Fremont. Our son starts elementary school next year so a good school district is definitely high on the priority list.

While researching the Fremont area and its school district, I found out that there is an overloading problem. There is a separate document on overloading on the Fremont Unified website.

Before pursuing any property in Fremont, I would appreciate any help on the following questions:

1. In the areas of Warm Springs and Mission San Jose which are the popular school districts, is overloading an exception or more of a norm?

2. Once my son gets admitted to the home school in kindergarten,is he all set through the sixth grade or do we have to go through the anxiety of the overloading issue every year?

Any response will be appreciated,

Thanks,

From what I've heard (I live in Fremont, but not the Mission area), Mission High school is either becoming or is already overloaded. I'm not sure how the economy has affected the school (maybe some families have moved out of the area). But what I have heard is that many families are asked to send there kids to Irvington High School as it's close by and gets a lot of the Mission High School overflow. I'm assuming it's the same with the elementary and middle schools in the Mission area also.
