We might be moving to Morgan Hill and I was wondering if anyone could give me some idea what are good neighborhoods and schools? Thank you!

Do you have a budget? Rent or buy? House or condo/townhome? How many kids in school and what grades?

Nordstrom and Paradise are considered the good elementary schools, but as of just lately Jackson is going to be turning into a magnet school, and they will be getting a lot of new teachers and new principal...hoping this change will improve the school overall.

There are a lot of good neighborhoods, so it depends on what you are looking for and your budget. Close to your neighbors or more space? Cookie cutter house or more unique? Hilly area with views or flat neighborhood?

We will be moving from out of state so we will have to sell our house before we buy another. So, we will probably rent for the first year since housing is moving slowly around here. I would prefer to rent a house similar to what we have. (3 or 4 bed 2-2 1/2 bath around 2000 sq ft) A townhouse might work also. I have two grown daughters, but my son will be going into forth grade in the fall. Thank you for any info you have!

Forgot to mention budget: max $3000 a mo. for rent or $400,000 to $450,000 buying a home.

You should find what you are looking for within your budget of 3000. Paradise is a good elementary school with a nice suburban neighborhood to live right there by the school. I would start by looking for rentals in that neighborhood...Craigslist may be a good start, or contacting a realtor to help you locate a rental property may be of help too since you are coming from out of state.

I went to Nordstrom as a kid and agree it's a very good school. Above Jackson Oaks, there is an HOA community called Holiday Lake Estates which also has bus service to Nordstrom and to Britton Middle (at least it did when I went there).
