It depends on what you consider the "Bay Area"... for instance, I would not call Vallejo & Dixon part of it!

Vallejo?? Definitely Bay Area. Dixon, not a chance - that's Sacramento area.

Well,
I go by the Metropolitan Boundaries of the Bay Area CSA(Combined Statistical Area) which includes 11 counties. Vallejo is definitely part of the Bay Area and Dixon is in Solano County albeit near our border with Yolo County.

Vallejo is definitely in the Bay Area, nevermind that you have to cross TWO toll bridges to get to San Francisco.

Why would the trip to SF dictate what's "more Bay Area?" It's on the Bay, so it's the Bay Area.

Alright, alright... let's not fight over it now! I guess Vallejo is the Bay Area, but I still don't consider Dixon a part of it. Guess if you go by county lines, it is though - just seems too far from San Francisco, so I might label it "Greater Bay Area" instead. Semantics, I know. Anyway, I'm still curious as to what the OP considers Bay Area, since he/she might not want to be that far.

I agree totally, SF is on one edge of the bay and Vallejo is on the other. It's just not very easy to get between them on the road.. which is, of course, why the ferry is so popular.
