...I will be visiting San Francisco from 11/12-11/18...the main reason is that i have decided to move and continue my education there...originally i am from Europe (germany) and the weather in San Fran is exactly what suites me
...
I would not like to spend much money on accommodation, since i will be very occupied exploring the area
---- but would like to know if anyone could recommend me a place, hostel, B&B, etc...
My 2 friends will accompany me and we will travel with our own car.

You won't be able to find cheaper accommodation than a hostel without staying with someone you know.

I stayed a night at the hostel at Fort Mason long ago. As I remember, nothing special about the rooms (probably a good thing), but the site is gorgeous.
