Both downtowns should take cues from Philly and Chicago: the two downtowns are stellar and awesome. They're thriving and very lively with lots of energy. There's hope for Downtown SD in the future but not so much for SJ since it's so suburban mentality.
You've never been on my ignore list my lad.

Agreed about San Jose downtown. I was up a few weeks ago and it was bad....the river trail that I like to run on felt unsafe and was certainly unsanitary. The little Italy there was a joke compared to SD.

However, don’t you think downtown San Jose will get better with Google’s investment? Adobe is also building a new tower and there is so much more money up there than SD.

Google thing will not happen for at least 10 years at best. I don't think it will happen. Yes, Adobe just started today on its 4th tower downtown but too little too late. Downtown SJ is a failure, but SD is better off. There's hope for Downtown SD. SJ is a lost cause: suburban love affair.

Things are really turning around in Downtown SD: booming high construction, redo of Horton's, cleaning up the streets, opening more businesses downtown and Little Italy being fantastic with Gaslamp regaining its luster.

Never hated Downtown SD but was concerned last summer. Now, it's different. Dt. SD is actually looking good these days with better prospect. It's a fine downtown that's lively particularly at nights. Love Little Italy!!!!!
