well honestly you make a good point, but since you made me think....yes they do tend to have some other characteristics that make them seem rather immature-from manner or speaking to dress-underwear hanging out of shorts for instance. But why should you care what I or anyone else thinks? I just said I found it humorous and nothing more . More power to you, and them.

Reasons to not move to San Diego:

1. If you are from a big city and expect to find the same level of cosmopolitan, cultural, and sophisticated living as where you came from (i.e. NYC, San Francisco, even LA)

2. If you hate intense sunlight or have a sensitivity to sunlight

3. If you want to get ahead in your career and make it big

4. If you are very liberal and progressive

5. If social isolation and insular living is uncomfortable to you

6. If you hate depending on a car as a sole means of transportation

7. If you like green trees and green grass

Reasons to move to San Diego:

1. If you come from the mid-west or a small town and want to live in California or have a more exciting life compared to where you came from

2. If you have some terminal disease which requires you to live in a warmer climate

3. If you want to retire in a relaxing place

4. If you love to surf and your life revolves around surfing

5. If you are not very ambitious or focused on career but rather just want to enjoy your recreation time

6. If you like tract homes

7. If you enjoy driving in your car and especially if you own an SUV

8. If you have ties to Mexico

9. If you want to get away from people and live a more closed-in, hermetic life

10. If you are in the miltary

11. If you like to date military men

12. If you are white and want to live around more white people

Terrible lists, and the racist remark at the end says it all.

LOL, I don't see how that is racist. I am talking about white people who prefer to live amongst whites- that those types it would be a positive for them. I never wrote that I was one of them or promoted that mindset. It is a fact that if someone wants to live amongst more whites, they will find more of them in San Diego. Likewise, if someone was Asian and wanted to be amongst their own kind they would probably find living in a Chinatown desirable.

You need to relax more- I thought San Diego was supposed to be laid back!

One thing I will always remember about San Diego- certain people there are very judgmental and easily offended. They jump the gun at any perceived slight or remark even when there was none intended. In their defense, they resort to quick name calling, defamation, and so on. It makes it very hard to have a real conversation with these types and it really doesn't inspire respect towards them. I think it stems from a fragile ego.

Me, relax? I wrote one sentence and look at the response I received. Trust me, mini, I'm very chill.

Funny coincidence regarding the past posts and my observations this AM.

I just moved into Carmel Valley and was looking through the North County section and the Valley Newspaper this morning. There were pictures of socialites and activities in the Valley paper and one pic had an asian in the background, so I turned to my wife and said "I found the token". My wife responded back that she found asian Waldo in today's paper, in an asian dentist advertisement. I'm sure if we poked through the paper again, there would be more minorities listed, but our perception mimics others.

It's mostly socioeconomic self-segregation, but some of San Diego's wealthier areas has quite a bit of racist history, mostly trying to keep it exclusive to new-money and outsiders.

Thanks! I find it much more effective than being passive-aggressive.
