I attend one of the local community colleges and I am looking at applying to San Diego State for transfer in Fall 2014. Is it hard to get accepted as a transfer student?

What community college do you attend and how are your grades?

I go to Grossmont College. My GPA is higher than the GPA requirement for SDSU transfer.

I thought if you are a resident of CA and have met all the requirements for Transfer Studies associate degree with a GPA higher than 3.5 you are guaranteed admission to CSU School. Maybe that is how it used to be.
Talk with your counselor at Grossmont about this.

Looks like Hoover High kids are guaranteed admission.

Beginning with Hoover's class of 2011, students meeting the requirements will be guaranteed admission to San Diego State University through the College Avenue Compact of the City Heights Educational Collaborative.
An alternative path for Hoover students is attending San Diego City College before SDSU. Before leaving Hoover, your student can receive special services, such as SDSU advising, so that transferring from City College to SDSU is guaranteed if they meet university requirements. While at San Diego City College, students will also participate in small learning communities to promote success at the college level.

Does anybody know about 'sdsu.us' website? It now redirects to sdsu.edu.
Was 'sdsu.us' a former domain for 'San Diego State University'?

SDSU has a LOT of impacted majors, so if you want guaranteed admission your GPA should be as close to a 4.0 as possible.

The only people who can give you the correct answer would be the people at SDSU. You need to ask them, we can only guess at the answer.

guaranteed admissions only are a legality. Most State schools have been impacted and while you might get in, you might not be able to take certain courses, major in certain areas, or it'll take you a few more years to complete instead of say the normal two. This is the part that sucks for a lot of kids. You might get in, but there is only 1 class for the fall and you can't take it because of various reasons. So you have to wait till the next year. Things like this happen more often than not these days. It's a sad thing, but due to monetary reasons, there have been a lot of challenges and changes.
