I will be relocating to Ramona in the next few months from Wisconsin...scarey!! Could anyone suggest a good daycare in that area. I'm also looking for info on hospitals in the area. I'm a labor and delivery nurse, and will be looking for employment once there. Thanks tons for any help!

Ramona is a disaster area due to the fires. It's also a small town with no work or hospital. You need to check out the Elcondido area, there are 3 hospitals, one in Esc, one in Oceanside and one in Rancho Bernardo. Escondido, San Marcos and Vista did not get burned out; only the eastern and northern side of R.B. was affected by the fires.

Ramona is a good place to live and raise a family. You most likely would commute to work, and my suggestion is to start by looking in Poway. Escondido is an option also, as well as Rancho Bernardo. And I agree with Alissa92065 and her comments above. The commute from Ramona to work is worth it to live here and you will get used to it. Good luck.

There is not a hospital in Ramona.
The nearest are Palomar-Escondido, Tri-City-Oceanside and Pomerado-Oceanside.
L&D best bet would beUCSD, Sharp or Scripps.

I wish you much luck in your move. Ramona is great...but also try to look or research Valley Center it has a quaint rural feel that is a good investment--more developement and expansion is in it's future.

Thank you all VERY much for your replies...funny thing, I haven't checked back here in quite some time but the above mentioned day care, and hospitals are EXACTLY what we've looked into with much success. So thank you all again. You've really made my decisions seem right!!!! Oh...and part of what I like about Ramona...I'm from small town usa...pop. 4000..so I like the small town urban feel!!!!

Also, Valley Center was one of the other area's we checked out. However the deal we found on our home in Ramona was one that couldn't be beat. So thank you all again!!!!!!
