Make sure you read thoroughly whatever contract the next place has you sign and make sure to avoid breaking it. These crappy hotels (I assume it's crappy- you mentioned roaches) aren't going to give you a break. It's a business, not a landlord-tenant relationship. You would probably be better off renting a room in an apartment or house with roommates.
