That said, since you are looking into upscale nightclubs, ie, $20 covers, $15 drinks, etc, I'll go on to say there are more than enough places like that in SD - maybe too many given it's size. Now my clubbing days are over, but I still try to stay up on things from the 20 something gal at that works at my bank and from what I read. Some places I've heard about, not all of which I've been to:

Like I said, that's a sample of the bigger upscale nightclubs with guest lists, velvet ropes, d-bags, $30,000 millionaires, etc. Then there are the rooftop bars, lounges, speakeasys, gay bars like Beach at the W, Siren, Quality Social, Seersucker, Rich's, etc.

Check out Cosmopolitan Hotel in vegas, just opened up on Dec 15th. They have a new nightclub and a few bars? THey may still be hiring...............
Las Vegas Strip Hotel & Casino | The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

I think Las Vegas would be a easier initial move , since cost of living and rent in Vegas is very cheap at this moment.

RocketHD I highly doubt you even live in SD.

The housing market in Vegas is sh*t and even worse then it is here

I admit that the 30s and 40 and up crowds will not risk going to Tijuana.
You seem a bit out of touch with what the early 20s something crowd is doing for fun.

But to the original poster, i would try Las Vegas or Los Angeles, I have friends that work the night club scene in those two places, and they seem to enjoy it but they say it is a bit "slower" now than previous years because of the ongoing recession..................
I am in the 20s crowd and none of us go to Tijuana. We hang out at the gaslamp or at PB/MB

I doubt they live here. Why would someone who lives here ask about our mountains and skiing?

No I dont need to go into upscale clubs either. I can step into a dive bar or even a sportsbar. Work is work and I can run any type of venue.

Thanks for the input
There is plenty of variety in nightlife here....from beach crowds, lounges, dives, upscale, dance clubs, college, etc. IMO, even more choices than you find in San Francisco. You really should come out and check it out before you decide to move here. Best time of course would be during the Summer, so you can see it at it's most active.

Really? 20 somethings are still going to TJ for fun and cheap drinks? Are you sure they aren't underage freshmen attending SDSU? I can't believe that 20somethings are still going to TJ to party. Then again, if doing $1 shots with some guy shaking your head (while blowing a whistle at the same time), is your idea of fun, then I admit to being out of touch. I'm guessing you've probably never even heard of the places that I mentioned in an earlier post?

Did you ring in the new year in TJ? 5 murders in a span of 7 hours. You and your posse just need be careful.
