I live about 10 miles away & i can smell the fire.
As of 5:54 pm the tally is 1700 acres & growing. The highland springs mobile home park is in danger. The firemen are doing a great job.

Watching KNBC coverage at 6:00 - the wind has died down and conditions are improving at this point. Can change fast if winds pick back up.

One house lost. Was a family home for the owner - he grew up there, it was his parent's house, and their parents before them. Coverage on that at 11.

Its abit windy today. The banning fire is much better now. A fire is now in camarillo (more then 500 firefighters are responding). The fire is now @ 6,500 acres burned, 0% contained. What stinks is its only may 2nd. We are in for a nasty fire season.

One slipped through the cracks earlier today over on this end of the valley because it was relatively small, although homes and property burned:

Heard on the news this morning it's about 65 percent contained, I'll be heading out that way tonight, smoke filled air everywhere.
