Hello! Looking for some advise on my current situation...

I've recently relocated from Glasgow, UK, currently staying in a hotel in Redlands and looking for a temporary rental for the next year. I've seen a place in Highland but I've heard mixed reviews on the area. Does anyone have any tips/hints on moving there. Is it a good idea? Really struggling to find something within my price range in South Redlands. I've taken a drive around Highland during the day and night and haven't seen anything offputting.

Does anyone have experience living in the area? To be honest, I was fine with possibly moving there as several separate people had told me it's pretty nice, not as nice as Redlands but not bad. One persons view has been a bit offputting... but that could just be one persons view.

Any help is appreciated!

Generally a lower-middle class area.

I live in Redlands, there are good and bad parts to our town just like Highland. Sometimes one block is great and then you go two blocks south and its a nightmare drug haven. Sometimes a duplex is better because there are less people living there as opposed to a big apartment building with more problem tenants. Good luck!

Highland is terrible. It's adjacent to San Bernardino and there were 53 murders there in 2012. Do NOT move to Highland under any circumstances. Move to Redlands or Claremont, two nice, crime-free areas. No one who lives in this area would willingly move to Highland. To an outside, yes, it might look nice. But it's basically San Bernardino without the murder rate. Please lsten to us locals!

Let me chime in a little. East Highland is like super sanitized suburbia. I've got a couple relatives and some friends in the area and it's very nice and clean. Pretty much anything east of the 210 freeway seems to be pretty good. And then gets nicer as you go up in the hills.

I agree with Mike. Other than east of the 210, there are pockets west which are okay while others are considered ghetto. Try looking on the east side first, you might find something within your price range. Good luck!

Anything below highland ave i would avoid at all costs. The area near walmart on highland ave (the foothills) is nice.

Just to clarify, is East highland a good area? How does it compare to Redlands, CA? I am thinking about buying a house in the East Highland area in the 700K price range. Is this too overpriced?
