Ah it will be a while before we get that nasty heat, my friend. We will soon enjoy some fine "Wisconsin summer weather" next month here...aka...68degree with little to no wind and low humidity. Favorite time of the year! OH, but we will have a few more freezes up until the end of April or so. Just like last year.

But, the worst of it is now behind us...it will still be cold, but not as dynamic.

My fish pond and pool froze!! you can see the fish swimming around under the ice. It's thick enough it's going to take a hammer to break the ice in the pond .

now that's pretty impressive

where's Anthony anyhow? Anyone know the last time it got this cold in SA? My daughter was asking me this morning whether or not it has been this cold here since we arrived in 2001. I don't think it has.

Jennifer Broome tweeted that the morning low hasn't been this low since 1990.

that's definitely before 2001

gracias

edit- so it got down to 13 at the airport this morning? I think that's what this says http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/...ekday=Saturday

that's only 1 degree off the record set in 1886, so it's definitely been a while since this day saw temps that low..

This is what you want to look at:

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/images/ewx/w...li20092010.pdf

If you scroll down....there was a recorded "0" temperature in January,1949. All time low for SA.

Lowest temperature was 18.5 according to our closest Weather Underground station in the Churchill area. Brrrrrrrrr!

Dog's water was frozen over. They were not happy. Oh well, they don't like to drink the water outside anyway. They much prefer the water in the inside bowls instead. Spoiled dogs! They had to go out this morning at 1:45 a.m. It was only 24 degrees then. LOL - they didn't stay out very long, either..

TexasNick, according to weather.com, we did have 0 degrees in 1949.
