Yes it's an insane storm complex. Very heavy winds there, I saw some Automatic Weather Obvervation Stations (AWOS) clock wind gusts over 67 mph!

Hot and fresh off the press:

The National Weather Service has issed a Special Weather Statement for our area:

Quote:
1132 PM CDT WED APR 23 2008

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED OVER SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS FRIDAY NIGHT...

AN UPPER LEVEL WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL PUSH A WEAK COLD FRONT
THROUGH SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS FRIDAY NIGHT. BEFORE THIS FRONT
ARRIVES SOUTHEASTERLY FLOW WILL INCREASE MOISTURE OVER THE AREA.
THIS COMBINATION WILL LEAD TO DEEP CONVECTION OVER THE REGION AND
THE POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAIN.
THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD MOVE INTO THE NORTHERN PART OF OUR FORECAST
AREA AROUND SUNSET FRIDAY. AT THIS TIME THE AREA FROM WILLIAMSON
TO GILLESPIE COUNTIES LOOKS LIKE IT WILL HAVE THE BEST CHANCE FOR
THESE STORMS. THE HEAVY RAIN FORECAST WITH THIS SYSTEM MAY LEAD TO
FLASH FLOODING ESPECIALLY OVER THE EASTERN HILL COUNTRY. THE
TIMING AND LOCATION OF THIS EVENT ARE STILL UNCERTAIN...SO KEEP
INFORMED OF THE FORECAST. LISTEN TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO...YOUR
LOCAL RADIO OR TV STATION...OR GET OUR FORECAST ON THE INTERNET AT

National Weather Service Forecast Office - Austin/San Antonio

Hoping my HEB run will still work. I can see the storms on radar, but they're not moving anywhere fast. There's some lightning at my house, but it looks like boring heat lightning. Freaking humid though.. blah

You know it is a bad dry spell when it rains in hell (Laredo) and not here.
