What time did you go out? I thought the moonlight would block most of the meteors, so we didn't go out.

It lit the sky with white and purple flames them amazingly it produced a VERY loud SONIC BOOM a few minutes after entering the atmosphere!

All of us jumped to our feet and cheered and applauded the amazing sight and sound.
That's interesting about the sonic boom you heard because my son said he heard a loud explosion when he saw one. I thought he was just imagining things, but maybe he wasn't. Was it somewhere around a little before 2 AM?

we were out from about 12am till about 115am or so...it was great because the clouds cleared but there were still some clouds covering the moon...the kids just loved it and it was a great bonding time for all of us...awwwww....

keep in mind that we live out towards boerne so we didn't have alot of the city light sky glare...so our backyard was a perfect viewing spot...

Hey Sara, I saw your post on the meteor shower August 12th. We are trying to track a big meteor that was reported low on the horizon around canyon lake and it actually made a sonic boom about midnight. Typically a sonic boom indicates the meteor is within 25 miles of the listener. Anyways, I noticed that you mentioned your husband saw one large meteor. If he has any information on the direction and land marks it was near, your information would be appreciated. If your interested on our progress to locate this meteor, I'll keep you posted! Thank you for your time!irection it would be appreciated.
