Steel man-I totally agree. One do not have to drive far to see the new Taj Mahal schools they are building. There is an elementary school in Stone Oak that looks more like a college or a five star resort than a school. The fixed income retired people are being abused by BCAD.

And just wait for a new School Bond next year as NISD has said they are already maxed out for this and next year.

They just had one this year...and a massive one at that...that passed. The next one will be in 2010 if they stick to their pattern.

What if appraised value increased over 10% before I bought the house, will I still qualify for the HS cap if I file for Homestead exemption?

Nope that doesn't qualify, though if your sales price is below the appraised value then you have protest grounds to lower the appraisal to your sales price. If your sales price is higher than appraised then your already getting a deal.
