I am trying to find more information regarding the new rules for trash pick up in San Antonio

http://sanantonio.gov/swmd/pdf/ThePr...ochure_Eng.pdf

The two trash cans, one for trash and one for recycling.

We have some boxes that gifts were wrapped in, microwave size. My husband is telling me that we need to cut them up and they must fit in the trash can.

Is it true that I can not put this empty cardboard box outside next to the can?

The trucks are automated now, so no one will get out and pick anything up. It needs to go in the can. There is just a driver and his "quicker picker upper".

Ha! These are some big cans! Easy to handle, though.

Cardboard boxes can be flattened and placed in the recycling bin. Whenever I have a cardboard box that's too big to fit in the bin, I just cut or tear it into pieces so it will fit.

If into the can it doesn't fit, expect the driver to let it sit.

I love the new system also, I did pull a muscle though, patting myself on the back for recycling so much stuff.

Oh yeah, I throw so much in the blue can that my black can is always empty; I've actually had to buy trash on craigslist just to have something to throw away!
