On Saturday I took the mob to SeaWorld, and luckily we were traveling south on 1604 as the northbound traffic was backed up from Braun (where we live) to south of Culebra. I have never seen it this bad, but it seems like that section of 1604 is constantly backed up. The way the road is designed, it appears that the plan is/was to put an overpass at least at the Braun intersection (it widens up considerably, and the north section of 1604 appears to be constructed for it) yet I wonder if it will ever be done.

We lived here before the Culebra overpass was completed, and it has done an outstanding job of keeping 1604 traffic moving. Will the section from Culebra north past Shaenfield, Guilbeau and Braun always been the outer loop's Achilles heal?? And if so, why and what happened to the money?

Cheers! M2

This is TXdot's way of making us average citizens buy into a toll road in the area.
