Thanks! I'm doing pretty good at remembering my bags. All I have so far is the blue ones from Wally Mart. Just might go get one from Walgreen's.

Ha! I got my free tree and reusable bag!!! I was the fourth person in line!! They also still have the free light bulbs. Stopped by Walgreens and got their bag too....it was on the way.

The tree is pretty cool for a freebie. It's a Shumard Oak (Quercus shumardil) it's 28 inches long and about as big around a two pencils.

I got my bags at both places, too. Got some good clearance stuff at Walgreens for 15% more off.

At HEB, I wasn't offered a tree and I declined both the slice of "Earthday" Cake and the CFL bulb. I also picked up the meal deal, but forgot to collect the free pint of Haagen Dazs in the before I headed for the checkout.

for anyone that uses the Westcreek Walgreens, you don't need the coupon, or at least that's what the lady at the cosmetics register told me. Might not hurt to have it just in case, though, and I pointed out that it's kinda strange to have to kill a tree to get something on Earth Day.

I noticed that the 15% discount was showing up on the register at Walgreens before the coupon was scanned, but my cashier scanned it anyway to make the bag free.

I should add that IMO, if you only have time to get one free bag today, the HEB bag is nicer than the Walgreens bag.

I was just looking at both bags thinking they looked about the same but we will see. I really do like the old blue ones from Walmart. I was skeptical at first thinking they wouldn't hold much weight but was pleasantly surprised. Hubby likes that he can just throw them over his shoulder and carry them like that.

It's a lot easier than I thought to get use to using them. I'm going to try to do my part and try to stop with the plastic all together over time. If I can stop smoking...I can do this!!

I did this LAST YEAR. Didn't get a chance this year because of work.

Last year, I literally took in a HUGE ball of plastic bags (about 50 of them).

I'm actually someone who recycles; I don't just do it for Earth Day

I sure was wrong about that. My free HEB bag has already developed a rip at one of the seams along the bottom.

I was looking at mine the other day and I think the Walmart bags are holding out the best. I am doing fantastic about using them. If I run out of bags at the store, i just take the stuff out unbagged( sp??). I am sooo proud.

You should see the free tree I got on earth day!!!
