Article in this week's North Central News says that tenants announced for the new buildings in Park North are: Target, Tuesday Morning, La Madeleine, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and FedEx Kinkos.

After the retail opens, in mid-2009, a 6-screen 850-seat Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will open. On the cinema's roof will be a "sky park," whatever that means.

There's a rendering with the full article at the link below which shows a hotel on the site.

I noticed today that La Madeleine is open at this shopping center. Also, there is a sign that says the Target store will be open on October 12.

I'm beginning to suspect that they are going to keep the old Sears building. The reason I think this is because some of the new shops that have been built there are in the same colors and design as the Sears store.

I hope they do keep Sears as it is. But it wouldn't hurt to remodel it a little bit. Make it cleaner and more modern inside.

The Sears building is owned by Sears. That's why it never closed and the rest of the mall was torn down around it.

I don't go in there very often, but when I have been there, I find it kind of trippy to visit a store that looks so much like a Sears store did 25 years ago! I found myself looking around there for the old cash registers with the big orange displays that would show your entire credit card number after the clerk swiped it in the register. It was a more innocent time back then.

Isn't that Sears supposed to become a Sears Grand?

Default More info on Park North Plaza

As per tonights WOAI newscast they reported that this story was in the SABizjournal. Along with the Aloft hotel, the project is slated to include a large comedy club by the owners of the Rivercenter Comedy club.

There is a big, beautiful glass building going up right now in Stone Oak.

Ignore that. I meant to say Earl of Sandwich not Ruby Tuesday. I had just read the Ruby Tuesday post prior posting that. lol

Who knows though, maybe one of the Ruby sites will be Park North?
