We will be in SA March 14-17. My daughter is turning 7 during the trip, so I am considering celebrating at Sea World.

Anything special they do for birthdays? We've never been there so any tips would be helpful. We are 2 adults and 3 girls age 9, 7, 4, although my aunt & uncle will be traveling with us. Not sure yet if they will do SeaWorld due to cost tho'

Saw a "Dine with Shamu" meal offered at $36 Adult, $20 a child. Is it worth it?

And if we don't do Sea World, where in SA would be a good place to celebrate a 7 yr old girls birthday with family.

Thanks!

Sea World is always fun, but if it doesn't work out you may want to check out the Natural Bridge Caverns wildlife ranch: Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch Also, go in the morning when the animals are hungry. The tour takes around 1 1/2 hours and then after words you could head over to the Riverwalk and go to the Rainforest Cafe (rainforestcafe.com) for a nice birthday lunch, kids love this place - people go for the atmosphere more than for the service or food.

SeaWorld is okay...I used to work there and they would give you a birthday button so people would see it and wish you happy birthday. And if the employees see you with it on, they may sing to her over the mic which is always cool. Dining with Shamu is a little pricey but honestly, a decent meal at any other restaurant in SeaWorld is at least $15 per person...so if you don't mind paying the extra money, do it. But also, I am with hoddys2, the Wildlife ranch is awesome!

Or even do a VIP tour...Those are awesome and you get front of the line passes for all of the rides which during Spring Break season, you will need those.

I can answer this one completely and honestly...

Dine with Shamu is my job.

You will get a good meal, it is buffet style, there are kid food items and adult food items, such as mac and cheese, hot dogs and pasta for kids, and for the adults, there is rice pilaf, jambalaya, carved roast beef, shrimp, chicken...

If your child has not yet received a birthday button, we make sure they do! child will be sung Happy Birthday by staff, and possibly a whale! (depending on trainer), the trainers bring a whale or up to 4 whales about 3 feet away from you, they walk around and talk during meal, answer all of you and your childs questions, there are alot photo opportunities.

It last about an hour, but to me and everyone that I have talked to they absolutely love it! Maybe I am a bit biased but it is a alot of fun and you can learn so much!!!

Does that help the team member at all?

I was thinking, I may take my daughters for a birthday too. This sounds fun. I did the behind the scenes tour a few years ago, but this sounds more fun!

it doesn't help team member but if brought to my attention I can talk to trainers and maybe have the whales sing (certain trainers are more apt to do this) and kids love it!!!!!

We did it today for a 7yo!!!

I also will know that it is someone from here and make sure that I am especially nice and on good behavior (lol)

Do you tell them when you get there that it is a birthday? I just booked our dine with Shamu, for this coming Sat March 12, 2011. It is my 6 year old sons birthday, and he would love it!!!
