I don't know if anyone watched KSAT at 5, but they are broadcasting in High Definition now with slightly crisper graphics (not much change from the old graphics though).

We watched the news at 6 o'clock. It looks the same as before except now the picture takes up all the screen. It's really kind of fuzzy.

That's cable for ya! Try to get over the air HD signal...should be uncompressed and crisper.

KSAT is the second station in San Antonio to broadcast in HD. KENS 5 made the switch at the end of June last year.

So I guess KENS can no longer use those intros that say "The Only Local Station Broadcasting in HD" or something like that.

Yeah, I thought I heard them say "San Antonio's first high definition newscast", or something like that earlier today.

I watched KSAT news this evening in HD with my OTA antenna, and it looked to me like not all of their cameras are HD yet.

Maybe it's only me noticing but KSAT was a way more quiet about the switch to HD than KENS.

I mean KENS had a month or more of build up with promo's etc. KSAT to me seemed to just switch over night with no notice. I didn't know they were going or had gone HD until I tuned in at 10. I was surprised actually.

I prefer it that way, the subtle way.

However, I am disappointed they didn't debut a new set or new graphics.
