Ok, I know it's a bit early but I figured while it was on my mind, I'd post. Besides if HEB can have their Christmas shop open, this thread can begin.

I thought this would be a good place to list what's going on in San Antonio over the next two months for the holiday season. Maybe your church has a live nativity scene...a Christmas craft show, plays, the best light display you have seen, anything the family might enjoy for the holidays. Please post it here so that those looking can find something to do or a new place to go to this season.

Ha, that sounds like something I would say too. I start that process as soon as Halloween is over.

There is a neighborhood up off of DeZevala and you turn to the right on N.W. Military drive and take the first street into the subdivision...I think it is a portion of Shavano Park....anyway the houses are decorated unbeliveably with lights, entire scenes, and even one house year after year has had a CHOIR out front singing (yeppers, a REAL one) and serves Hot cider to those that stop to enjoy!!!

It is a tradition that we still do every year, and if any of our grown kids are home for Christmas, THEY still want to do!

Wow, I figured everyone would think I was crazy for starting this. Hope it keeps going over the next couple months. We moved here just after Thanksgiving last year and with that madness we didn't get to do any of the traditional stuff other than go to the Riverwalk/downtown. Looking for good ideas this year.

My church choir is caroling on the River Walk the evening of December 6. I can't wait - I've never done that before, and I LOOOOOOOVE the River Walk at Christmas time.

I'm not a "Christmas person" at all - I just don't really dig it that much, but I love the River Walk at Christmas - it's just beautiful.

Is that the Woods of Shavano? It's a manger kind of set up on a corner? We do that too! Even when we lived in the Woods of Shavano it was a treat ('88 to '98). We still do it now.
