OK, my license expires in August, and I can't renew online (did it last time). Since the powers that be have closed the Perrin-Beitel office, I have a choice of
  • Babcock Rd
  • Universal City
  • S New Braunfels Ave
  • S Gen McMullen

Best Bet? Best Time? I am in NC SA...

Babcock was packed last time I was there with my son. The time before that, it was a ghost town. Don't know what the difference was.

I went to the Universal City one in May at around 1-2pm and I did not have to wait in line. I was in and out in a few minutes. A friend of mine went to that location (through my advice) last month and she had the same experience.

I'm leaning towards UC, as it's a straight shot east on 1604...ugh, I HATE this process!

If you have the time, go to the Boerne office. It's never busy.

I second the Boerne office. You will probably only have to wait about 10-15 minutes.

Any is good but one major thing to consider is...

Never go on Mondays, Early Wednesdays/ late wednesdays, Tuesday and Thursday are fine any time after 10am. Belive it or not their least busy day is Friday.

I been to all DPS Offices Many, Many, Many times, their least busy and slower one is Gen MC, and the New Braunfels is crowded but they get the line moving. Babcock will always be packed in the mornings and evenigns. The Universal city I only been there oncel.

hmm..it's 10 minutes further according to Google, but that extra 20 minutes travel might be worth it in saved waiting time...thanks!

I was at the UC office in last month and was in and out in five minutes. My boyfriend just went at the end of June and was in and out in five minutes as well. Both of us arrived there about 10am.

Last month, I went with my son to the UC office on a Friday afternoon about 2:00. There was no one ahead of us in line.

FYI for the local folks, the UC office is much nicer and more spacious than the old Nacogdoches Rd. office that it replaced.
