I grew out of my military dependent status about a decade ago,so don't typically go on any of the bases anymore... but did go to the BXtra on Randolph a few months ago when my parents were in town. It did seem to have good prices on liquor and had some sets/freebies with purchase stuff.

On base definitely. A few dollars cheaper and no taxes.

Are they that good? Had not tried one yet, but DO enjoy mojitos when good. Seems to me they only are made GREAT and NOT SO...no middle of the road.

They don't taste exactly like a traditional mojito (they have regular flavor and pomegranate etc. varieties in the pack.) If you think of it as "mojito-inspired" - you might enjoy them more - haha!

Either way, they are refreshing and cold and a great deal so DH is ALL OVER THAT!!!

We buy the Econo-sized Bacardi bottle because we looooove Mojitos in the summer. Yes, I am a stickler and make them with real limes and mint, etc. I have bought at D&B's and Costco (am not a member) and it is much cheaper at Costco's. I want to say it was about an $8.00 difference. Something like $28.99 at D&B's and $21.99 at Costco's.

Sam's only sells beer & wine, no hard liquor. I know, I am a member there. I would guess the Mojito pack is not made from real liquor but is along the lines of the Smirnoff drinks, Zima, etc. I think they are made out of wine? Anyway, I think the difference with being a member or not is that Costco's has liquor and cannot make it exclusive becasue of some kind of TABC laws. I am sure someone else can explain this better than I.
