Just read this article about the land grab rush that is currently going on in Texas.
https://www.mansionglobal.com/articl...nd-rush-227745

Its not just San Antonio and Austin and the belt in between that is experiencing a "land rush" of buying up land and properties, its all of Texas with investors and foreign investors making up at least 30% (or about 1 in 3 people). "Even foreign buyers are transacting sight unseen, with Zoom, Teams, and virtual showings.”

This rush by investors and others will lead to loss of rural land and wilderness (such as over by Government Canyon with development there) and all over Texas as well as inflation to home and rent prices.

Texas was usually known for its rural areas, lots of open land and affordable country (and even urban like here in SA) living. Times are changing.

If there's open land and the price is right, nature takes it course.

If I had a dollar for all the whining I hear from my Canyon Lake neighbors about the 'invasion' of new people I'd be insanely wealthy. As if this is a new development.

Honestly, it's been happening for years. This is nothing new.

Have you taken a drive on the southside lately? The development in certain areas is rapid and lots of trees are being razed over and prices increasing. Big changes compared to what I used to see 15 years ago when you could get plenty of land with lots of trees for much less compared to other areas.

It won't be long before Texas is another concrete jungle.

I hope not. I like Texas for what it historically has been. But times are indeed changing.

Again, you’re not going to find any magical places in San Antonio that will help you win the investment lottery. The area will rent. It will not appreciate in any exponential way, that pretty sure you’re looking for. Go to Bastrop or Lockhart people are moving out that way because of Tesla.

How’s that end up, OP?
