Traffic is actually lighter than usual because of covid. Oddly enough. Plus it’s summer. If schools go back to in person, watch out.

San Antonio politics is a mixed bag. I call it a blue bubble with chunks of Red. You have your republican neighborhoods, but it will mostly carry democratic elected types. Any other county outside the city is drastically different.

As far as BBQ is concerned, depends on how far you want to drive. Probably the best in town is Smoke Shack on Broadway. But there will be 100 different opinions on this. If you’re driving East on your way back stop at Salt Lick in Driftwood.
I was looking at some city crime graphs broken down by the mayors' political party yesterday. Only 2 cities, one is San Antonio, have 'independent' mayors.

Nirenberg is certainly not an independent.

Technically he is, as candidates for City office do not run for office under a party label. But those candidates may be either on or off record as being aligned with a major political party.

How does the political affiliation of a mayor affect his/her job?

Party affiliation may influence an officeholder's ideology when it comes to policy-making.

San Antonio is bigger than Boston. About the same size as Philly and yes smaller than NYC. At least population wise.

I recommend B&B Smokehouse off Pleasanton Rd. I also like BBQ Station as well.

So what are some specific governing differences we would be seeing if Greg Brockhouse had won?
