I am pretty sure Kerrville ISD has lower school taxes.

Local Sales tax rate is 8.25% which includes the state retail tax of 6.25%; a city retail sales tax rate of 1%; a Kerr County retail sales tax rate of .50% and a city of Kerrville sales tax rate of .50% for economic development.

Local/state tax rates 2011

  • City of Kerrville: .5625/$100 value
  • 2012 Property Tax Rates Authority
City of San Antonio sales tax rate: 8.25%. No savings there. Sales taxes (Including the amount allocated for Pre-K in S.A.) are assessed on the amount of purchase, and paid by the purchaser.

You are correct that property taxes are lower in other communities, which especially impacts owners of higher-end or multiple properties. If it is a business (like a restaurant), it may be a better deal, as long as it the dollar volume of sales isn't significantly reduced.

Yep, it is open...the food is average. The service is horrid and the wait is real bad. Lots of people walked out tonight. People waiting over an hour. They could not get peoples orders right.

FatBoy Burgers open at the old GBG on Huebner near IH-10. I think it might've been a wing place in between those tenants.

La Mansion Mexican Restaurant coming soon to Boerne in the old El Chaparral building. Also, Captain Turquand's Saloon has opened at the Phillip Manor recently in Boerne as well.

I hope that Tim doesn't kill the goose that laid the golden egg. He had a good thing in Southtown and had a loyal following there.

Smaller towns mean you've got to work harder to keep people loyal. Tim will likely only be give one shot by many of those folks who walked out.
