most likely the director and the future anchor replacement are not from the SA area i have noticed that when it comes to the majority of nicer paying jobs they wind up filled with non-SA people so it must be "its who you know" hiring process.

It has more to do with who they have in house to replace the lead anchor. If there's no one ready or qualified to take the lead at the station, they'll bring in someone from outside the station and usually outside the market.

Possibly.

If I were betting on an internal candidate, I would sooner pick Mat Garcia, who was just hired in June to be their morning anchor.

Mat Garcia named co-anchor of KENS 5 Eyewitness News This Morning | kens5.com San Antonio

Well that stinks! Jeff was just starting to grow on me. However, I did find his laugh a little on the annoying side. I miss hearing the news from Chris Marrou.

I liked Jeff Vaughn but now I have a familiar face! I remember Jeff Goldblatt from NBC News 5 back home. He is a very good and professional anchor and is definitely a welcome addition to KENS.

Don't know about her professional skills, but the ratings for KENS would go through the roof!

Going to be hard to replace Chris Marrou. Welcome and good luck to Jeff !

KENS has been hurting since Chris Marrou left the station. I don't know that anyone can top WOAI's Randy Beamer right now.
