I've got a craving for tartare. Any tartare, actually....if you know of it. Thanks in advance!

Luke (downtown) will do it on-demand, but it's not on their menu. I get it at least once a week.

Le Frite (Southtown) also had it on their menu permanently before the sale, but the kitchen will do it even when it's not there now. Just ask.

I love steak tartare and prepare it myself at home quite often. Just get a piece of beef tenderloin, egg yolk, onions, pickles and spices.... Or whatever your favorite recipe is calling for.

Bin 555 on Bitters Rd used to have it on their menu. That was about a year ago so I'm not sure anymore.

Gosh darn it, BN!!! I'm at Luke right now & the server looked at me with a blank stare like I was an idiot when I asked about the steak tartare! I blame you! :-) You'll have to pay me back by ordering it for me at lunch, if this was just a Luke fluke. I'll pay, of course.

That's insane. I was there on Thursday for dinner and they had no problem with it.

Apologies. They do know me by name there, so perhaps it's done out of courtesy, but methinks you may have just gotten someone new or not familiar with what the kitchen can do. Again, not my intention to spoil your lunch.

Haha, you didn't spoil anything. The smiley face was supposed to signal I'm just kidding around. I ordered some other stuff instead. Could part of the problem be that I'm eating lunch or brunch instead of dinner?

It's possible. Let me call Luke this evening and get a handle on this. I just hate giving advice that turns out to be the raspberries.

I shall report back asap
