I have a sibling that is going to dental school and is looking for a house to rent in the area, because it seems nice and does not want to commute far. Does anyone have any info on Summerwind Subdivision or any other surrounding neighborhoods. Budget is less than $1,000, 3b/2bath something built 1990's or newer.

How does this medical center compare to Houston's medical center. Thanks in advance for sharing.

I don't know anything about that subdivision, but a budget of less than $1,000 for a 3 bedroom house is going to limit your sibling's options in nice neighborhoods, especially if you're looking for something newer. What's wrong with a well-kept house that's a few decades older? I have seen houses from the 70s hold up well while KB homes built in the 90s are already falling apart.

That's gonna be a tight budget in the medical center. They might be able to find something older inside 410 near the area, but food luck trying to find something new like that at that budget, like L210 said. You might find a pretty snazzy condo or apartment at that price in that area though. There are lots of Grad students in that area though, so location is good and its relatively safe.

There's stuff that meets that criteria up and down Oakdell Way and the surrounding area.

I would include the Lincoln Green subdivision for your search....we rented to Docs doing their residency program for 6 yrs there, and had 3 yr agreement options by word of mouth if we had not decided to sell the rental....was on the market over the weekend this past summer before we sold it. GREAT rental area....close, quiet and VERY nice for a small family. 3 bdrm, 2 bath with quiet, away from it all kind of environment. We would walk the dog and see deer daily because of the "farm" land area that enveloped us.

Hope this helps!
