I was told that a Costco was going up on the southeast side near New Braunfels Ave. and Military Dr.

There's a lot of retail construction going on there now so I could see it happening. Has anyone else heard about the Costco?

Also, a CVS and small shopping center are going up at Clark Ave and Southcross Blvd. at the old Albertson's site.

You may be thinking of SAMS. I contacted Costco about a few years ago and they were under the impression that everyone south of Castle Hills lived in mud huts and could never afford Costco. Sams, I think, has always been in the future of Brooks City Base as has Penny's.

I found a .pdf of the future plans for City Base West (construction on SE Military and New Braunfels). The Sam's Club mentioned before looks like it is supposed to be built next to the existing Wal-Mart.

I you look at the density around where Costco's are built the Citybase Area is not even close to having that type of density. IMO, if that's what it takes to have a Costco then it's not even close to being worth it.
