Does anyone have Roadrunner lite? Is it fast enough (768 kbps) ? I do not play video game, but surf and occasionally watch NFL games on streaming vid.

TV providers have to deal with ever-increasing fees from the networks they carry. For example, back when ESPN was a fledgling 1-channel network, the per-subscriber fee they charged cable and satellite providers was pennies per month. ESPN now charges $3.65 per subscriber per month! For networks that subscribers can't opt out of, every bit of that fees is passed along to all of them. Those fees from networks are the biggest reason that cable and satellite rates consistenly go up.

It's interesting that you likened this pricing to a game because the cost of games is definitely affecting prices. The next time you hear that ESPN paid some league millions of dollars for the right to broadcast its games, keep in mind that if you're a cable or satellite subscriber, some of that money will be coming out of your pocket.
