Hey, folks.

Spending the weekend in Austin and wondering whether to drive back down today or tomorrow. When I head up on Friday, I saw many signs proclaiming that I-35N would be a nightmare from this past Friday even through tomorrow (Monday) morning at 5am. But then I looked at the TexDOT website, and it said that there would multiple lane closures on I-35 from Tuesday through Thursday--not this past Friday through tomorrow.

What gives? Anyone driving past I-35 at Cibolo this weekend? Should I head back down today or wait till tomorrow morning?

Thanks much for any info on this. TexDOT seems to be giving us conflicting information.

So were all those signs on I-35 about crazy traffic this weekend really just BS??? I've never seen so many warnings about multiple lane closures and alternative routes. I was thinking of driving back tomorrow in the late morning (post-rush hour), but I don't want to be surprised with unadvertised lane closures.

I don't know - perhaps they finished early. If you look at the link, there's construction/closure info listed as well.

Why don't you cut across on 290 and then hit 281 and come in to SA that way? It's a much more enjoyable drive, till you get to the Stone Oak traffic. 35 is ugly in more ways than one.

I think they put up all those warning signs because of all the drama from the last lane closure (a few weeks ago).
