My husband and I are new to Sacramento County as I have recently accepted a job in Rancho Cordova. We are pretty impressed with Folsom and looking at two houses. One is in the Natoma Station neighborhood and the other is in the Kentfield (Broadstone) development area.

The Natoma Station house is a bit more expensive, 3 bdrm, 2 ba (one story). It is close to highway 50 and the light rail. The Kentfield development house is 4bdrm, 3 ba (two story) but I'm less familiar with the area. I also don't know how much longer the commute would be. The prices are in similar ranges though Natoma Station is slightly higher.

We are ready to make offers but don't feel like we have a lot of information on the neighborhoods. Our realtor recommended we check out this site so I hope to get some insight from locals! We plan to live in the area for 2-5 years so re-sale value is a consideration for us. We hope to start a family soon so a family-friendly neighborhood and good elementary schools are also important. Who knows - we may end up staying for longer! Any thoughts or comparisons would be appreciated.

Have you bought the house yet? If yes, do you like the area?

Folsom has a GREAT aquatics center if you like to swim. folsom is mostly Ok without the "ghetto" mentality that pervades most of Sacto.
