Can anyone give me a comparison between the two areas? Lincoln looks to be a little newer with maybe a younger group of residents than Roseville. It also looks more expensive than Roseville. Old threads on Lincoln are not flattering. But several residents I spoke with loved it in Lincoln. Any insites are appreciated.

I might be able to help a little bit. I chose SCR over SCLH for several reasons. The biggest reason was that SCR is flat and I was tired of hills, having always lived in hilly areas. I thought that as I got older and presumably more decrepit that I would not want to deal with the hills every time I wanted to go for a walk. Secondly, I liked the more mature landscaping in SCR. And the third thing has to do with proximity to conveniences, like all the Roseville restaurants, for example. I also believe that SCLH still has Mello Roos to pay, so that affects the taxes. SCR does not have Mello Roos. I'm not a golfer but DH is and he frequently golfs with SCLH residents who prefer to come here to SCR as they like our golf courses more than SCLH.

I can't really speak to the age question as far as median age goes. Our street has quite a wide age span, from late fifties to 90. We're on the younger end and still work (part time) . . . not everyone is retired. I must say that I find the 90 year olds who still garden and are very active to be quite inspiring.

Overall, it's a lovely community, well maintained and with something for everyone. To be balanced about it, I do have friends in SCLH who love it, so it's really an individual thing.

Whatever you choose, best of luck to you!
