Non-monsoon season in PHX averages 5-10% humidity (bone dry) at hottest time of day, heat index is around 5-7 degrees less than standing temp. Sac averages 15-20% humidity at hottest time of day, heat index is around 3-5 degrees less than standing temp. Sac's humidity is near perfect, dry, but not bone dry, when its hot.

Sac has the added benefit of the cold PACIFIC COOL DELTA-BAY breezes cooling us DAILY in the Summer. Sac averages 50's and 60's in mornings, nights, and evenings. Phx averages 80's and 90's in mornings, nights, and evenings in the summer.

RIGHT NOW, June 10 Gay Pride Day, 9:00 a.m.

Sacramento - feels like temp 61F

Phoenix - feels like temp 91F
Agree about the monsoon season. Sacramento's humidity is among the lowest in the west during the summer. But... you are exaggerating the summer temperature differences. Statistically, Phoenix is about ten degrees hotter than Sacramento during the day, and about 20+ degrees at night. I would not say that Sacramento is routinely in the 50s and 60s in the EVENINGS in the summer, as you can usually walk around in the evenings in shorts, but between midnight and 6 AM, for sure.

Of course the numbers are correct, Chim; that's not what cherry picking means though. Cherry picking means you tend to pick a small amount of data, sometimes just a single day at a single time of day, and use that to prove a point. But you can't make points about climate in that way. Those are snapshots. You can say that Sacramento is really pleasant at that particular moment in time, but when it's 110f, you seem to lay low and don't point out how much hotter it is than in other cities at the peak of the day. So someone else could make the exact opposite point with a different piece of cherry picked data. You really need to look at long term data over thirty years to accurately talk about climate, not a day here and there. That's all. Not to say that it's not fun in in its own right, but it doesn't prove a point.

Bottom line. Name 5 metro areas with better climates. Ye can’t. Name a metro area outside of California with a better climate. Ye can’t.

ts, I just posted the temp ranges for every single day in April and May for Sacramento based on weather.com. I can't cherry pick that data. You say, "when it is 110F", what I joke; its 110F one or two days out of 365 days per year. When you dwell on 110F you are cherry picking. When you say its super hot every day in the summer not only are you cherry picking; you aren't stating facts either.

We have been over this over and over again, I've reported on data over 30 year averages or longer. For example, the percent of sunshine and clear days data I reported was based on 30 year averages.

Maybe you and your disbelieving brethren will be supper happy when Sacramento experiences a week long, heatwave of 100 plus temps and hot nights, then you can cherry pick and overgeneralize the entire summer based on those 7 days of heat wave because I know you or someone else will do that.

June 2018 to Date:

Sacramento
High Temp
100's - Zero days
90's - 2 day
80's - 5 days
70's -1 day

Low Temp
70's - zero days
60's - zero days
50's - 9 days

Phoenix:
High Temp
105F or more - 8 days
95F or more - 1 days
80's - zero days
70's -zero days

Low Temp
74-79F - 7 days
70-74F 1 - day
60's - zero
50's - zero

But here you are, cherry-picking data to prove a point that you're not cherry-picking data. The June days so far are just a few days out of one year out of a hundred fifty years of data. All that really matters is June averages over the long term. My point about it being a hundred and ten degrees was precisely to show you how irrelevant that is as well.

Call it what u want I’m posting actual factual data. The last week in Sacramento has been spectacularly beautiful perfect weather, actually the last 2 months have been awesome. The past Month in Phoenix would be considered a total nightmare worst heat wave ever by Sacramento standards.

8:20 morning, June 11

86F - Phoenix - if Sac has a bad heatwave this summer it still will not be that measirable in the morning.

63F - Sacramento

Lets' not forget also cherry picking the hottest cities in the nation, and on earth for that matter, to compare Sacramento too. Yeah Sac is cooler than Phoenix as is every other city in the nation....

I’ve never compared Sac to Dubai or Abu Dhabi but like so many many other cities Sac’s weather is BETTER. You are so obsessed with Sac and it’s weather, but u don’t live here and I do.

3pm afternoon, Jun 11 2018:

Austin- 100F
Phx - 103F

Sac - 88F
