I saw this little bit of info on one of Buffalo's news channel's website:

Relocating to Buffalo | WKBW - TV Buffalo, New York | Local News (broken link)

Quote:
A new study shows that Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse rank in the top five best mid-sized cities for relocating families. Primary Relocation of Memphis is out with its fourth annual spring survey. Syracuse ranks second, Rochester third and Buffalo fifth for mid-size cities. None of them were on the list last year. The rankings are based on factors like cost of living, crime rates and education.

Yes, good to read some possitive news on Rochester in the national light. While our real estate market being the "2nd hottest" isn't really saying much when you consider the market as a whole...I think this is a valid rating and really says what I like most about Rochester; it's a very strong and family oriented COMMUNITY.

It's easy to see Buffalo being on the list along with Rochester. Our housing (while I'm not an expert on it) is cheap and schools (Buffalo area) seem to be on a rebound of increased education.

gee, yesterday I just saw Buffalo on the top 10 list of "Dying Cities" in the US. I believe it was in USA Today.
