East Irondequoit is on the cusp of the notsogood. Parts of the area are great, and some not. The area you are asking about is hedging on the not, althought I know nothing about Teakwood itself. The school district is okay - because the suburban school districts in this area are fantastic - but compared to others it is lacking.
I lived in the Irondequoit area and have had family/friends there for years. I would not want to live in East Irondequoit - but that's me and I would look elsewhere - especially if I had children.
I live in East Irondequoit. The schools are ok, but parents are more important than any school district. However, I would stick North of East Ridge Rd. As the previous poster said, Teakwood was a great neighborhood 20 years ago, but becoming borderline these days.
That being said, I'd rather live in East Irondequoit than West Irondequoit. That school district is vastly overrated, where Eastridge has been steadly improving.
