What towns in the Greater Rochester area are the safest? We are looking at Pittsford. Can you tell us how safe it is there and what kind of crimes generally occur?
Crime in Pittsford is minimal. I used [link] to compare a bunch of cities. Rochester, as a whole, is below the national average, but when you look at a suburb like Pittsford, you find that it's incredibly safe. Its property crime is not as low as violent, but that's likely because it's such a rich area. Its violent and personal crime rates are pretty much at the bottom of the scale.

Yeah, serious crime issues in Rochester are pretty much limited to some rough neighborhoods in the inner-city. Once you get out of the 19th ward or 14621 area of the city of Rochester; and especially once you get into the surrounding towns; crime isn't something you need to worry about.
Even though 1 would not worry about the crime in the surrounding areas, what crimes are actually taking place to safeguard the family?
