Well if you haven't been to FULL KEE, you should go. It is traditionally known as the best Chinese in Richmond and you will typically see a lot of Chinese people there on Saturday/Sunday morning when they have Dim Sum. They bring around the carts and you choose which things you want. Pork buns, shrimp and chives, bamboo and mushroom, fried tofu and lots of other dumplings. If you go at night, it's typically your regular Americanized Chinese Food. However, recently Full Kee has gone down hill in my opinion. Last time I was there the food was cold, tasted odd and the service was hit or miss.

While you are there, take a look behind the place in the alley and you will see PHO SO 1 NOODLE HOUSE, hands down the best Vietnamese Food in Richmond. ALWAYS good. I've been going there for years. It's either number 15 or 24 for me. And don't forget the coconut milk!

UMI BISTRO is hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Richmond. For some reason a lot of Americans think Hibachi grilling where they cook in front of you and pour oil all over rice and meat is Japanese food. NO! I hate that crap. Umi has the freshest sushi, a really great menu. I have met the owners several times, a Japanese man and his Chinese wife. It's a little pricey, but that's what you would expect being right there on Broad St. across from the Short Pump Mall.

As for other Chinese, it's all pretty much the same crap. I actually thought Tops China on Midlothian Trpk near 288 was pretty decent for crap American Chinese food.

So there it is. The best of the best. I've pretty much tried everything else in the Richmond area, besides Korean food. There are 2 places on Midlothian Trpk that I have yet to tried, I'm just never on that side of town.

Do the Chinese restaurants in Richmond normally have REALLY greasy, fattening rice? I love that! Where I live now, all the restaurants serve really dry, flavorless rice.

I went to Full Kee full of excitment after reading these comments. Not only was I disappointed but I must say it was some of the worst food I have had. We had four different entrees and I feel consistently it lacked flavor. There is no, let me repeat NO comparison to the quality of food offerred at Chens.

Like I said, Full Kee has gone down hill recently...I'm not sure what happened.

I recommend the Dim Sum though. Get there right at 11am on the weekend when the food is hot.

I don't think it is really worth going there for lunch or dinner. Their lunch and dinner is nothing special.

no problem Richmond Pics....we learn and experience through trying and I never doubted what you said was true -- just that quality can change rapidily with restaurants. It appears that it has in this particular situation.

Smile Best Chinese Food?

We usually go to Jiang's off Midlothian Turnpike and CarMia Way between Home Depot and Ruby Tuesday.
