Joe Trillo is pushing for Quonset to become a deep water gambling destination, Cruise ships, hotels, displays, entertainment, etc, etc.
If I understand him, he's talking about a large scale endeavor, to more than compete with the basic Gambling in Ma. and Conn. I think he feels an investment such as this, will give RI tax dollars and jobs for the future.
Any thoughts?
Quonset should have been the state airport years ago, the gambling thing should have been done years ago, too. another case of too little too late for RI. CT's casino's are well entrenched......
I wonder what the market is for the proposal? another case of tax easements with the promise of money for the state later? regardless of the party, what's the money trail?

Oh...Try to forget he's a Republican.
Terrible idea ! RI needs tax money, but there are better ways to do it for crying out loud. Glad I don't live or own property in North Kingstown. They went nuts years ago when WalMart came to town... nevermind gambling.
What's wrong, can't the gamblers and alcoholics go to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun anymore? Oh, that's right. The Indians own those. The politicians and those connected, tsk tsk, will "own" North Kingstown.
