I've never actively looked for attractive people, and I certainly wouldn't feel sad about never seeing them again. That seems very odd to me.

I think "extreme" looks becoming more common (big visible tattoos- especially on women, piercings in weird visible places) and a "let it all hang out' way of dressing that have become more common contribute to peoples' physical appearances being less attractive.

OP, did you mean "pictures in your head" or were you, literally, taking pictures of these strangers (e.g. on your phone)?

If the latter, then all I can do is repeat ... CREEP ALERT!!

So I hope you weren't being serious ...
I put the word "pictures" in parenthesis. And it didn't show up on your radar screen. We're talking stolen glances. I don't even own a Smartphone.

I think as I get older, I see more beauty in people. Sometimes you have to look past the outside package.

As I get older, I find I don't spend as much time judging whether other people are attractive. There are plenty of things I'm still judgy about, but this isn't really one of them anymore.

In particular, I spend less time noticing the bodies of senior citizens, but perhaps it's because I live with lots of older people now. In younger days, if I was at a pool and saw someone who was 55+ in a bathing suit, I would have been more likely to notice that person's body (and probably be a bit judgy about things that the media tells you are "unattractive").

But now that I live here, I'm in water aerobics classes with 30-40 other senior citizens. When people are doing jumping jacks in a pool, there's not a whole lot that's hidden, so the reality of people's bodies is no longer an unusual sight. Same goes for zumba classes, yoga classes, pickleball games, etc. When you do those activities you see the fat and the wrinkles and the surgery scars and the receding hairlines and we've all sort of gotten over it.

You also see the glow after completing one of these classes, and the sparkle in eyes, and the smiles and maybe that's more what I tend to notice these days.

In my 20's, I thought women 18-20 were hot.
In my 30's, it became women 18-30.
In my 40's, well, you get the pattern.
Now I'm in my 60's and find gals from 18-60 looking pretty hot.

My world is filling up with good looking women!

Sounds like me (I'm 51)....

The OP lives in Tucson...so your opinion is based mainly from there?

Every location is different, even your neighborhood, depending on so many factors. US and abroad.
When I travel, I see many more attractive people than when I stay home,
more fit, less haggard.

I have a tiny bit more time to notice people physically now that I am retired. Uncommonly perhaps, I prefer the natural, yet neat and clean look. That means people who go to extremes to decorate their skin are not attractive to me at all, and those who work too hard to have eye-catching features like gages, piercings, oddly dyed or cut hair, just disappear in my mind.

As to most people my own age, I find myself wondering who they started out as and who they have become. That means I may look at the opposite sex just a little longer than before because they might hold that history in their 'looks'.
